Beskrivning av artikel

Lantliv mostly consists of field seeds, with a little seasoning of hemp, sunflower, rapeseed, and many exciting small seeds from wild field plants.

Ground feeding is best in the winter when the snow has settled. Keep an area of 2-50 m² reasonably cleared and sprinkle Lantliv as needed. It's best placed near your bird restaurant. You can also scatter it on other hard, used surfaces such as paths, driveways, etc. It's not recommended to sprinkle directly into loose, deep snow.

Species that prefer to forage on the ground include yellowhammers, finches (both house and brambling), pigeons, partridges, and pheasants. House sparrows and tree sparrows also like to sit on the ground.

The yellowhammer is a flock bird that only searches for food from the ground (sometimes from sheaves). It doesn't like sunflower seeds and needs field seeds, which are a mix of grain and small weed seeds. Slåttergubben himself often has 100 yellowhammers at the same time on his approx. 40m² cleared area.

Spreading food on the ground creates a color contrast against the snow, attracting passing birds. The larger the area, the more birds it can accommodate. When the birds are well spread out, the risk of infection also decreases. For hygiene reasons, you don't have to sprinkle in the exact same spot every time—just vary it a bit!

Lantliv causes a transport emission equivalent to 0.04kg CO2 equivalent per kilo from cultivation to our warehouse.
