2.5 kg Swedish Organic KRAV-Certified Hemp Seeds in Bulk

We are excited to offer Swedish organic hemp! We source seeds from Linnea Sohl here in Östergötland and Gustaf Alden in Skåne. The seeds are excellent, with a nutty and fatty taste, just as they should be.

A fatty seed that is appreciated by the bullfinch and many others – siskins, greenfinch, bullfinch, brambling, great tit, blue tit, crested tit, coal tit, long-tailed tit, tree sparrow, and more. Hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats and high in protein.

The hemp seeds may contain some weed seeds and harvest residues, and they are not 100% stone-cleaned. If you plan to eat them yourself, do so at your own risk.

Best mixed with shelled sunflower seeds for a truly versatile fatty seed mix.

Please note that some shells will be left on the ground – it's the inner, light, creamy-colored kernel that the birds enjoy. Some people think that birds avoid the hemp when they see the shells underneath.

These seeds come from oil hemp, which is not the same kind of hemp classified as a narcotic. Occasionally, some seeds may germinate and plants may grow near the bird feeder, but don’t worry – they can't be used as a drug.

The Swedish-grown hemp seeds are KRAV-certified and cause a transport emission equivalent to 0.017 kg CO2 equivalent/kg to our warehouse. Read more about these calculations here.
