Blanda frön writes the following about this product: (May 9, 2024)

This flower mix is an organic seed blend specially designed to increase biodiversity in your garden. This unique blend contains seeds from various plants that will attract and support a variety of insects and other small creatures in your garden.

The seeds in the package are organic and consist of buckwheat, coriander, marigold, cornflower, dill, sunflowers, and other beautiful meadow flower varieties.

Comment:
This is probably the worst scam I have seen! I opened my package purchased in early May 2024. First of all, the ingredient list is completely wrong – there is no marigold, dill, sunflower, or coriander in the bag. Instead, what the bag contains is grains like oats and barley, which are not flowers at all. They are, however, some of the cheapest seeds one can use to bulk up a mix! In 2023, they were available from organic farmers for 2.62 SEK/kg and 3.53 SEK/kg respectively. This bag contains 10g of seeds, mostly made up of these grains, which translates to a price per kilo of about 2500 SEK...

Furthermore, a large part of the bag’s weight seems to be some sort of legume, which I believe is fodder vetch – also a very cheap seed, like buckwheat. In the bag, I also find cornflower seeds and poppies, along with a few other seeds I don’t recognize. But in terms of weight, it’s almost nothing.

It’s great that the seeds are organic! Kudos for that. And while it might turn into a nice blooming flower bed that attracts a variety of insects, that’s almost true. However, this has nothing to do with a meadow, as a meadow consists of wild Swedish plants that can withstand annual mowing year after year. None of the seeds mentioned in the text (or found in the bag) are anything other than annual, non-Swedish flowers (with the exception of cornflower and poppy, which are 1-2 year blooming weeds).

A meadow with wild Swedish plants will always attract a much wider variety of more specialized insect species than a flower bed!
