Garden Design for Both Birds and Humans

Description

This is the book we've been waiting for! It shows how bird feeding, gardening, nature interest, and birdwatching can go hand in hand. With enthusiasm and insight, the authors explain how everything is interconnected.

On our website, under "Why Organic," we also discuss garden care for birds and nature, which complements this book with a slightly different angle. The focus there is on how we can use gardens to mimic vital bird habitats that have disappeared from agricultural landscapes. The book, however, focuses more on typical gardens in residential areas and emphasizes that a bird-friendly garden doesn't have to look "wild" or neglected.

From the book's back cover:

Birds are an inseparable part of the garden environment. In the spring, you can enjoy their songs, follow their nesting activities around nests and birdhouses, and in the winter, they provide great entertainment when they visit the bird restaurant.

"The Birds' Garden" is a richly illustrated guide and an inspirational source for garden enthusiasts who want to learn more about the birds that visit our gardens. The book introduces the most common species, describing their preferred environments, what they eat, and how they live. It also offers detailed advice on how to plan your garden to attract birds and suggests suitable plants. For those who feed birds in the winter, there are plenty of ideas, and a chapter on birdhouses is also included.

The book also features interviews with well-known gardening personalities sharing their relationship with birds.
