Handle to blade hoes 110cm (with wedge)
Keep the handle's length if you want to work with the hoe fairly vertically into the ground, often when working with soil. If you want the hoe to work more horizontally with force between your legs to chop stumps and sapplings or as a vertically held axe, it is better to cut the handle down to 65-75cm. In some cases down to 40cm.
NOTE: If you are working in marshes and moist environments (slippery), we recommend carving/chiseling/grinding the handle so that it has a small knob at the top and the main shaft is a little oval, more like the shaft of an ax.
The handle is round throughout its length and 28mm in diameter where it is thickest at the bottom.

Lubricate the lower conical part of the handle with a little machine grease (or butter). Attach the hoe to the handle. On the opposite side of the hoe itself, at the eye (the hole), there is a square of solid metal that protrudes. Use this square as a counter support against a larger stable object such as sturdy anvil. Now, strike the handle forcefully into the hoe. The better support you have, the more you can knock in the handle. If more than 1 cm of the handle protrudes after being hammered in, saw it off so it protrudes a maximum of 0.5 cm. Then hammer in the wedge. Done!
