Description

"Magdans i underjorden" is part of a book series for both children and adults – Invisible Miracles.

They tell the story of the free ecosystem services provided by nature. Here, we gain a deeper understanding of what happens in natural pastures where ecological cows, who don’t receive deworming treatments, graze. Many deworming medications also kill insects.

We take the stairs down into the earth, where an entirely new, exciting, and invisible world opens up. A grand celebration is taking place there, with billions of tiny creatures and microbes crowding together with plant roots, all searching for food to live and reproduce. Some of them have particularly clever ways of attracting and benefiting from one another to fill their stomachs with the nutrients they need.

Magdans i underjorden (The Belly Dance Underground) is about the living soil and the amazing interplay where Earth’s organisms make the soil fertile so we can grow our food in it. With humor and metaphors, nature’s processes turn into an exciting tale where bacteria, fungi, and other small living creatures live in symbiosis with plant roots.

This is the seventh book in the Invisible Miracles series. The book series tells, in an engaging and fun way, about some of nature's vital ecosystem services. With text and illustrations, Magdans i underjorden sparks the imagination and the desire to grab a magnifying glass to head into nature and search for your own miracles.

The text is written by teacher, farmer, and author Inger Källander. The nature-inspired and playful illustrations are painted by Anna Helldorff, an illustrator and former preschool teacher.
