2,5 kg naked oats. KRAV-certified.
Unlike regular oats, naked oats are free from husks. They naturally detach during threshing. Additionally, this variety is more traditional and contains higher levels of fat and protein than any other grain type.
Naked oats are an excellent feed for those who want to feed birds with Swedish-grown bird food. It works well in both bird feeders and on the ground.
They are especially liked by yellowhammers, house sparrows, tree sparrows, pigeons, and jackdaws. The blackbird has also been found to appreciate naked oats — a bird that typically loves chopped sunflower seeds. Given the fat content, it will be interesting to see if other birds will enjoy it as well. However, it will probably still struggle to compete with sunflower and hemp if offered side by side.
Our naked oats are second-class, meaning some may still have husks, and there might be a few weed seeds.
It’s also great for cooking as a rice substitute for yourself. But keep in mind that our naked oats still have some husk left, which isn’t ideal when eating it directly. It is said to be the healthiest grain we can eat. It’s certainly very tasty! And when comparing our prices with health food store prices, it’s quite a bargain! At the same time, it contributes more to the national tax revenue since it’s taxed at 25% VAT rather than the 12% applied to food products. It’s practically guaranteed to be stone-free.
The naked oats are organically grown at the Fagraslätt farm in Skåne or from Wästgotarna in Västergötland, Sweden, with a transport emission of 0.07 kWh/kg (0.02kg CO2 equivalent/kg) from the farm to our warehouse.
