The flowers dress up and invite the bumblebee and the insects to dance!
The book is part of a series for both children and adults – osynliga mirakel.
They tell the story of all the free ecosystem services provided by nature. Here, we gain a deeper understanding of what happens in environments where flowers are allowed to bloom.
"The blooming willow offers the queen bumblebee and other flying and climbing insects the first breakfast of spring. Soon, the whole of nature becomes a flowering ballroom where every flower princess awaits a kiss from a courting prince. The bumblebee has a large family to support, and in its search for nectar and pollen, it pollinates many flowers. Bees, butterflies, and many others do the same."
Pollenkyssen tells the story of how the pollination of all the plants in nature takes place. It describes how flowers are designed to attract and deceive pollinating insects of all kinds to fertilize them and form new seeds and fruits for the survival of the species. Pollination is one of the most central ecosystem services on Earth. It is a miracle that is invisible to the human eye but vital for life on Earth, not least for humans.
Pollenkyssen is a read-aloud book about pollination, where both children and adults can enter the enchanted world of nature and, with the help of text and illustrations, have a real "aha" moment. Is this how it works? Ah, now I understand! – BTJ's reviewer Solveig Lidén, Häftesposition 12115397
Pollen Kiss is the second book in the Invisible Miracles series. It has been adapted into a children's book from the photo-illustrated book Invisible Miracles, which tells about some of nature’s vital ecosystem services. With text and images, Pollen Kiss sparks the imagination and curiosity of both children and adults, encouraging them to grab a magnifying glass and go into nature to search for their own miracles.
The text is written by teacher, farmer, and author Inger Källander. The nature-inspired and playful illustrations are painted by Anna Helldorff, an illustrator and former preschool teacher.
