Organic Naked Oats

Naked oats, unlike regular oats, are free from husks. They are removed during threshing. Additionally, this variety is more original and contains a higher amount of fat and protein than any other cereal grain.

Naked oats are an excellent feed for those who want to use Swedish-grown bird food. They work in both bird feeders and on the ground.

They are primarily liked by yellowhammers, house sparrows, tree sparrows, doves, and jackdaws, of course. The blackbird has shown an appreciation for naked oats - a bird otherwise so keen on chopped sunflower seeds. Given the fat content, it will be very interesting to see if other birds will also appreciate it. It's likely that it will still struggle to compete with sunflower and hemp seeds if they are served alongside.

Our naked oats come from a second sorting, meaning that some may still have their husks, and there could be a few weed seeds.

They can be cooked like rice for personal consumption. But remember, some of our naked oats still have their husks, which might not be very pleasant when eating. It's said to be the healthiest grain we can eat. In any case, it is very tasty! And when you compare our prices with those in health food stores, it's a clear win! At the same time, more money goes to the state treasury because it has 25% VAT compared to the 12% on groceries. It's virtually guaranteed to be stone-free.

The naked oats are organically grown at the Fagraslätt farm in Skåne, Sweden and cause transport emissions equivalent to 0.07 kWh/kilo (0.02kg CO2 eq./kilo) from the farm to our warehouse.
